Dragon Ball Super is a Japanese anime television series that aired from 2015 to 2018. It is a sequel to the Dragon Ball Z anime and the first new Dragon Ball television series in 18 years. The series is produced by Toei Animation and is directed by Kimitoshi Chioka.

The History

The story of Dragon Ball Super follows the events of the “Universe Survival” arc of the Dragon Ball Super manga, which sees the characters of the series participate in a tournament involving fighters from eight of the twelve universes in the Dragon Ball multiverse. The tournament is hosted by Zeno, the king of all the universes, and the stakes are high as the losing universes will be erased from existence.

The series features a number of new characters, including the god of all angels, Whis, and his attendant, Vados, as well as the Supreme Kai of Universe 10, Rumush. The series also introduces the concept of “Gods of Destruction,” deities who are responsible for maintaining balance in their respective universes by destroying planets.

In addition to the tournament arc, the series also features a number of other storylines, including the return of Frieza and his resurrection as a cyborg, the emergence of a new enemy called “Zamasu,” and the introduction of the character Trunks from a future timeline.

Dragon Ball Super was well-received by both critics and fans, and it has been licensed for release in a number of countries around the world. The series aired a total of 131 episodes and was followed by a film, Dragon Ball Super: Broly, which was released in 2018.
